About Us
Badger Millwork Engineering was started by Kim G. Badger, a veteran in the millwork industry, as an AutoCAD millwork, cabinetry, and furniture drafting, design, and consulting firm. They are located in scenic northwest Connecticut.
Immediately after completion of military service Kim took a position with a custom furniture manufacturer as a furniture-makers apprentice in Louisiana. After several years he returned to Connecticut and began building custom homes with his father. After 8 years, a construction site accident forced him to seek a position with a millwork manufacturer where he worked for 10 years as a cabinet maker. It was at this mill shop that he decided to learn about the engineering facet of the industry. Kim taught himself AutoCAD and accepted a position with the company’s engineering department. For 16+ years he has worked as a millwork engineer with some of the finest mill shops in the country, and has earned a reputation as learned, inventive, thorough, and passionate draftsman.
After many years working in the midwest Kim decided to start his own business. With regret but an intrepid spirit, he resigned his position, moved to New England and started Badger Millwork Engineering as a supplemental millwork drafting service. The firm that he resigned from became his first client and he is currently their east coast representative. At this time he has cliental ranging from home owners and builders, award winning millwork shops, and nationally recognized Architects from across the country.
